Melissa Pollard was born and raised in Oshawa Ontario
Canada where she studied dance at a very young age. Her passion and skill
as a dancer (tap, jazz and ballet) continued to grow as she won many awards
and scholarships. After high school, Melissa decided to pursue modeling and within no time she booked an international contract and found herself in countries such as Japan. Upon returning home she auditioned for The Shopping Channel where she booked a job as a full-time on-air personality. During
this time Melissa yearned to expand her skills and add actor/singer to her
range as a performer. She auditioned and was accepted into the Randolph
Academy of Performing Arts (Toronto Ontario Canada) where she spent the
next three years training in their accredited triple threat program. After
graduating, Melissa became a working actor in Toronto landing many commercials
and television projects. Recently she relocated to Los Angeles, California.
Since her move she has been working consistently and has landed over fifteen
projects. She is excited and thrilled to be exploring her new surroundings
and anxiously anticipates her new ventures..."I have had the great pleasure of working with Melissa on a variety of different productions. Her ability to slip seamlessly between various characters is one of her greatest assets. She brings a professional work ethic and outstanding attitude to every job we've undertaken. Melissa takes direction with an intuitive sense and is able to bring something fresh to every take. There is no doubt in my mind that Melissa is headed for Big Things!" John Barry, Producer/ Writer / Director "I have been fortunate in the last year to watch Melissa bring herself to her work. She has made great strides while working very hard in class, determined to improve with each new scenario, and as a result I have witnessed her reveal herself through her work. Melissa is fearless and rises to each challenge I put in her way." Bruce Clayton, Associate Artistic Director, Professional Actors Lab |
